I began studying deliberate reality creation with the Seth books in the early 70’s. Over the years, I’ve taught classes based first on the Seth material and in the last five years on the teachings of Abraham. Most recently, I’ve written a novel.

My career in fiction started with a dream I had one night after returning from the Abraham Hawaii cruise in December, 2005. I wrote it down (essentially the first chapter of my book) and sent it to a small group who had participated in the Abraham cruise seminar. We called ourselves Club Chocolate, because most evenings we would meet in a lounge on the ship, where the stewards would serve us all the coffee, tea and chocolate we could eat. We were all so high from the cruise, feeling we could be, do, or have anything, that some actually wondered if my wife Jeanie and I could really fly. We couldn’t, physically at least, but the immensely positive feedback inspired me to continue writing.

I imagined what it would be like if Jeanie and I suddenly had the ability to fly, and tried to write the story as realistically as possible from there. In part, I was using the book as a giant form of scripting. I was telling my life story as I wanted it to be, and it was fun. In the process, I was also creating a world where the reader could tell a more positive story too, and that was very satisfying. So, studying and teaching the Abraham material, and writing, are the main areas of focus in my work right now.

It is obvious there are many advanced teachers on this forum, and I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas. I also want to give a special thanks to David Gordon for creating (and his crew for maintaining) this wonderful environment in which we can all flourish.

Hello Angel of Love,

What a wonderful name you picked for this forum.

Thanks for your welcoming words. I really enjoyed writing the book. Jerry spent the whole week on the Mexico cruise in 2007 reading the manuscript. Esther complained humorously to me that she kept wanting to do things with him, and he just wanted to read it. Of course, hearing that felt good.

If you do decide to read it, I would love to know what you think. And, yes, I do love chocolate.

Warm thoughts,

John Waddell

And I so want to be a writer - and knowing that you are basking in this having started a bit later in life - I am so inspired - Thank You!!!!

And as one who also has always wanted to fly (and just adores chocolate too - what a wonderful combo!) - and who love love loves flying dreams (which have greatly inceased since knowing Abe) - I look forward to hearing more from you. (And am secretly ::whistlehoping you will inspire me to write Abish Fiction too!)

As a child I just refused to accept that flying was not an option - and now in my late 40s I am back there again!

Hi Suncat,

Thank you for your wonderful welcome.

Ever since I got my Ph.D. I thought the next step was for me to write a book. I always thought it would be some kind of psychology tome or self-help manual. I started a few, but my energy always petered out after a few weeks.

My wife Jeanie introduced me to the Abraham material in March of 2002, and I began to teach a class in Deliberate Reality Creation. Three years later, after listening to hundreds of hours of Abraham sessions and taking many pages of notes, I said to Jeanie that I felt like I had gone to graduate school again, and maybe it would be good for me to write the equivalent of a dissertation. Jeanie asked how I liked writing the dissertation for my Ph.D. I told her I didn’t like it much at all. She just smiled, and that was the end of that. We went on the Hawaii cruise that December, and afterward I had the dream that led to my novel.

Suncat, I had fun writing it. I couldn’t not write it after I got started. When you find what is right (write) for you, that’s how you will feel. Abraham often encourages us to tell a different story. I told the story I wanted to see happen. That would be a wonderful way for you to approach “Abish Fiction.” Some authors plan their novels in detail, characters, plot points, etc. I just imagined where the story would go as I was writing, and was surprised and delighted by unexpected twists.

Also, I was often focused on the story before I went to sleep and would literally dream the basics of the next chapter. Before doing anything else in the morning, I would write these down.

I used to want to write for all the wrong reasons. When I started doing it just for the pure joy of it, what I wrote was joyful, both for me—and from the feedback I’ve gotten—for others too.

So, you have the perfect combination for being a writer: you love chocolate (and I suspect cats, who are the most contented, independent beings in the world) and you have wonderful dreams. (Actually, only the last is necessary. The first two just make writing more fun.)

Hi John, pleasure to meet you. The Seth material also has figured prominently in my life (my grandmother intoduced me to my first Seth book when I was 15), and is a factor in why the Abraham material was such an easy fit. So you're a psychologist? What an appropriate field for someone interested in deliberate creation, considering that our manifestions are all organized along the lines of psychology.

Hi Federov,

My mother introduced me to the Seth material, and I have a great story about that.

When I came home during Christmas break of my first year of graduate school, I had been energized by the teachings of Ram Dass and become quite involved with the Siddha Yoga center in New York. I was excited about my newfound knowledge of Hinduism. My mother had been teaching a modified version of Hatha Yoga for years, and I thought she would be delighted that I was following a similar path. Instead, she gave me three Seth books. Her position was that Hinduism, like most traditional religious teachings, had been given for a different time and place. The infinite intelligence behind all such teachings was just as alive today as thousands of years ago and was available to us now, tuned to our culture and time.

We had a week’s worth of discussion—and argument—about whether Hinduism, which had been refined over many centuries, was a more accurate representation of this infinite wisdom than what we might newly receive today. Our debate over which was more aligned came down to sex. Hinduism held that in order to achieve the highest level of connection with God, it is best to give up sex. Seth, on the other hand, spoke of “lusty spirituality.” In my mother’s view, it was totally illogical to deprive oneself of God’s gifts in order to be closer to God. I finally agreed (both logically and biologically). I often tell people, with some humor, that talking about sex with my mother was the turning point in my moving from the study of traditional religions to the Seth material.

John, wow, you have a very progressive mother...

My mother was a Christian Scientist... I think the Christian Science religion came out of the 19th century new-age movement along with thinkers such as Wattles, embracing the concept that matter was the manifestation of the perceiver. Unlike your mother with Budhism, my mom would have liked me to become a CS, but I couldn't see myself having any satisfaction within organized religion.

And so I latched onto the Seth material. Seth's well-articulated academic-level detail about the inner workings of a universe created by thought really resonated.

So tell me about your teaching interest. Are you currently teaching the Abraham and Seth perspectives?

Right now, my energy and focus are going into writing. I'm also doing author discussions and teach through those. What are you doing along these lines?

Welcome to the forum!!!

I am looking for ways to be a psychologist and an author. !!!! Cool ha?

I have written a book and waiting for publishers answer, it has to do with my own life (depression, beaten up by my ex, wanting to kill myself, drinking) and how I managed to find my way. It is a bit Abe style but in a way that my country can accept!!!

I also try to find ways to get a degree but part time because I also have my own business (commercial business in contraction material).

Hi Katerina,

Thank you for your welcome. This site is amazing in that all of us from all over the world can get together. I wish you well in getting your book published. More importantly, you have found your way. We all deserve nothing but joy and love. Books and degrees are delightful additions.

Welcome, John!  I always admire writers (any creative types really!).

One of my prominent dreams from childhood to now is being able to fly.  My dreams always take me high above the trees and give me a bird's eye view of my world.  Very interesting that your book is on this very subject....

Hi Jen,

It started with a dream. However, I wanted to write something uplifting (all puns intended).

I wanted to write something that showed how relatively ordinary adults would handle a variety of situations using the Abraham principles. I love hearing stories about Jerry and Esther creating some event and then rebalancing. The book is an extended story like this, where the reader can really get to know how the characters think.

The characters find ways to fly emotionally as well as physically. And that’s what I think we all really like about flying—the emotional experience. And we can create that joy every day. So many people on this forum do that. My book is about learning how to do it consciously, but with a primary emphasis on being entertaining.

I've always found it interesting that we as a species chose to evolve away from flying rather than evolve into a bunch of "fliers", like birds... and then I realized that we allowed ourselves the ability to "fly" figuratively and intellectually and spiritually, while not physically (at least not without the help of technology), and that the ability to FLY UP, as Jen describes, is actually incredibly powerful.  Abraham tells us to "fly up" to HIGHER PERSPECTIVE.  And the heights we can reach with that are infinite.  The higher one's perspective, the more fun life is, the more "in perspective" our so-called problems and tribulations are put, the more understanding we can allow.

Flying is an important part of the Sara books.  It's interesting that the only work of fiction that Abraham has written to date is (supposedly) geared toward children.  Perhaps Abraham understands that we humans right now have limited our allowance of "flights of fancy" to the realm of children, and it's even more interesting that the vast majority of Sara readers are adults!  We can allow ourselves all of those truths only if we tell ourselves we're reading a "children's book"???

I often tell people who are mired in "what-is-itis" - or what Abraham calls too much "looking at what is" and claiming it is "true", that if they would FLY UP to higher perspective, their entire perception of "what is" will change to one that allows change in thought, which in turn allows change in emotion... which in turn... creates a new reality!

My favorite ride at Disneyland - Peter Pan's Flight.

I CAN FLY I CAN FLY I CAN FLY!

Welcome to the Forum John!!!

(Hey David, we need a "flying" emoticon!)

John, your story of writing this novel is very inspiring. That's something in my escrow, and I wonder if next year is the year for it to manifest!

Welcome to the forum. This is a magnificent place for us all to take flights of fancy together.

Hi Jody,

Whenever I look at your designation, I smile, because you are a super moderator.

“It's interesting that the only work of fiction that Abraham has written to date is (supposedly) geared toward children.  Perhaps Abraham understands that we humans right now have limited our allowance of "flights of fancy" to the realm of children, and it's even more interesting that the vast majority of Sara readers are adults!”

Yes. I wanted to write a story where we adults get to fly! “Coming of age” stories are usually written about children at Sarah’s point in life. I want to continue to have transformative experiences as a grownup. Many of the stories on this forum show that we can and do.

In the mainstream literature, transformative “inspirational” stories about adults usually involve some horrible thing happening to someone (disease, tragedy) and then they heroically transcend it. My story starts out, “Jeanie and I were feeling good, and then things got better.”

“I often tell people who are mired in "what-is-itis" - or what Abraham calls too much "looking at what is" and claiming it is "true", that if they would FLY UP to higher perspective, their entire perception of "what is" will change to one that allows change in thought, which in turn allows change in emotion... which in turn... creates a new reality!”

Well put. That’s the story I really want to communicate. We can fly every day.

Thanks for your thoughtful post.

John

Hi Lovely Leslie,

Okay, first you have to tell me what that lovely medal is around your neck. You have obviously already flown in your own fashion.

I loved writing my novel, and that is the key. If you are having so much fun writing that you don’t want to do anything else, it will manifest. And if you are having so much fun doing something else, that will manifest, and it will be just as good.

“This is a magnificent place for us all to take flights of fancy together.”

Yes, let’s take flights of fancy together—and then script them into a real, new, positive reality that we can live in, one that is as fulfilling as if we physically flew.

Thanks for your warm welcome.

John

Hi John!
thanks for asking:
It's a finisher's medal for the NYC Marathon! Which I completed in November.  It was an amazing experience.

I LOVE your description of writing your novel.  My goal for the marathon was to enjoy every mile, and I could see having the same intention for a novel, to enjoy writing every word.

Blessings,

Hi John, I can't really say welcome to the forum, as I think you got here before me! What  a lovely name for a club as I just ADORE my vitamin 'CH'. I can't recall having a dream of flying but often in my pre-sleep state I see myself zooming through the air about 20 feet above roads, trees and valleys. It is most enjoyable especially as I am still aware of it. I look forward to conversations with you.

Hi Poss,

I asked Abraham in Hawaii if we could get access to the inner wisdom Esther calls Abraham. They were adamant: Yes! We all can, as well or even better than Esther. Abraham has said this also at other times.

Esther’s Abraham is a wonderful step along the path, but I think our great-grandchildren will find it humorous that so much focus was put on one person’s transmission of this Universal Wisdom that is available to everyone.

Poss, you have your own Solomon. We all do. What happens to most of us—and I heard Abraham talking about this just recently—is that we are so focused on asking that we don’t listen. If you write down your question, and then relax and listen, you will be amazed at the wisdom that can come through you. (It helps to write down what you get.) My mother taught a number of people to “channel,” using this basic process.

In terms of the Law of Attraction, if you are low on the emotional scale, you’ll get a response that will speak to you, but others would never believe that it came from Universal Wisdom. As you get higher up the emotional scale, what you get will be richer and more uplifting.

When I engage in this process, I invariably feel better. Some people claim, “it’s just me.” Some claim, “It’s just Esther.” If it feels like Solomon, and is as helpful as Solomon, that’s good enough for me.

You’ve asked. You can have the same.

Warm thoughts,

John

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me John. I have actually begun to ask Abraham my own questions, but how wonderful to have you affirm it! I do sometimes doubt and think 'Is this Just me?', but then of course it is, as we can all tap into our inner being that is pure connection to source/Abraham. I have found that the       place-mat exercise has been particularly useful to me, as I write down the list of things I hope to achieve on this day and then put some of the bigger issues for me onto the 'universe to do' list. I have found that it provides a great space for allowing and it is wonderful how those things on the list are unfolding.

It is so good to be reminded that we all have our own Soloman and I guess I was just loving the idea of a beautiful large owl coming to visit me for a while to converse! Slipping a bit into the child world where all is possible! ....and I do realise that all is possible if we allow, but to possess that childhood knowing and expecting....Ahhhhh

Your mother sounds remarkable. What an interesting childhood that would have been! What is the name of your book? I have sometimes thought that to physically fly would indeed be wondeful especially as I  have a fear of heights!::LOL I know that I soar emotionally many times, and sometimes during that hypnagogic state but to just open the front door and take off.....wonderful!

Warm Welcome to Abe's Forum John. I can feel you are really going downstream. I look forward to reading your books. Thank you for sharing your magical story of Seth & Club Chocolate. What a delicious experience.

Your post put this really big smile on my face today. It is another insight for me. I feel blessed that my uncle Ron gave me all of his wonderful Seth books, with a warm hand, too.

My uncle, who crossed over a year ago, also "began studying deliberate reality creation with the Seth books in the early 70’s," too. He traveled all over the world to learn Seth's teachings. It's amazing that Seth belongs to Abraham's non-physical group of marvelous teachers.

Wishing you and yours sweet chocolate days, yummy vibrations, love and blessings in abundance, Nana

Hi Nana,

Thank you for your warm welcome. And thank you for your wonderful thoughts about my book.

“How truly wonderful to experience a loving couple, writing, and feeling good energies together.”

You’re not the first person to respond to this aspect of the story. My focus was on imagining how Jeanie and I would respond if we suddenly had the ability to fly—and how the world would respond to such a breakthrough. But it also turned into a portrayal of what might happen after a romantic courtship, where most love stories end.

I think of it now is as an adult love story, or a story of adult love. Abraham has often talked about marriage (I like you a lot; let’s see how it goes), and about people taking responsibility for their own happiness in a marriage. This is what I tried to show in the story.

This is what I said to Jeanie in our wedding vows:

You are the answer to my dreams.

With this ring I ask you to become my wife.

I ask you to love me, or not, as it pleases you.

I ask you to stay with me, or not, as it pleases you.

For only in the full freedom of following wherever your heart leads,

Can you give me the expansive love I so cherish.

And Nana, thank you for that great picture of chocolate. I’m now going to have some.

John

::huggingThank you John for your delightful response. ::musicI'm smiling so much that my cheeks hurt with joy...because my smile for you and Jeanie just lifts my heart far and beyond and makes me feel good.

You've reminded me today to open my mind and fly free. The frequency of your light moves mountains and has inspired my very own vibrations. My truth is: I am happily dependent on God who is my Universe...my total relationship of well being.

Since years, I've always felt that it is important that I like myself in any relationship. Contrast::nod has been a great learning process, too. The alignment Abraham speaks about is one of my keys to spiritual growth/success. "Abraham has often talked about marriage (I like you a lot; let’s see how it goes), and about people taking responsibility for their own happiness in a marriage." Preciously like your beautiful wedding vows that echo out respect and pure love for self. The very tenderness shown of two hearts becoming a unity with the Divine. How cool is that. Relationships are precious treasures indeed.  The art in any relationship of allowing self to fly freely and respecting your own choice and that of others makes me feel really good now.

Your escrow is absolutely awesome!
It is all beautiful!
It's all so very good!
Love, kindness and so much happiness, Nana

Nana,

You are poetic in your own writing, and your gift for appreciating comes through in your heart-warming posts.

Feeling your appreciation, I’m reminded of a great story. It answers the question, If the Law of Attraction always brings us exactly what we are vibrating, how can things turn out better than we expected?

When Jeanie and I went back to Germany a few years ago (my first time since I was eight) our travel agent got us two aisle seats across from each other on the longest leg of our journey, coming back from Frankfurt. On all the other flights, we were together, and we definitely wanted to sit next to each other on the flight home.

We contacted our travel agent, who told us all the seats were filled. But sometimes people cancel, and she suggested checking at each of our stops. Two seats together might open up. We did this, and each time were told all seats had been taken.

Finally, at the Frankfurt airport, I had gone up to the check-in counter and been told they couldn’t do anything. Waiting to board, we discussed Jeanie going back to the agent and telling him we were on our honeymoon. Maybe that would move them to do something special. Technically we weren’t, but emotionally we still felt like we were (and still do today).

But the line at the counter had grown long, and we weren’t comfortable with this plan, so I suggested we get into as high a state as possible and just imagine everything turning out perfectly, no matter what happened.

As we were sitting there in a light state of meditation, one of the agents came over and asked to see our tickets. When I told her about our desire to sit together, she took our tickets and walked over to the agent who had told me a few minutes earlier that all the seats were taken. I mentioned this to Jeanie with a slight drop in my energy.

A few minutes later, she came back with our tickets and said, “I’m sorry but there were no seats available in economy.” I responded weakly, “How much would it cost to upgrade to First Class?” knowing we couldn’t afford it.

She smiled, “Oh, you don’t understand. We found two seats for you,” handing us two First Class tickets. Jeanie and I looked at each other, mouths open. After thanking her, we sat there staring at the tickets.

Okay, so far, things turned out a bit better than expected. The idea of getting upgraded to First Class had occurred to us the moment we saw out travel agent’s “mistake.” “Wouldn’t it be nice if ….” And we had fantasized about it even as we asked if we could get seats together in economy. While we were far from certain it would happen, this was the best possible outcome we had imagined and aimed for.

However, that was just the beginning. Not only did we have the wonderful feeling of creating such a great event, we then got to enjoy it. When we got on the plane, a steward offered to take our coats and gave each of us a glass of champagne—and it only got better from there. I think we ate our way across the Atlantic, and I’ve never had better food. When we landed, we didn’t want to get off the plane.

In other words, the trip was more fantastic than anything we had imagined. So, how could this be?

We were wide open. The better it got, the more we allowed. We just stayed open, and they just kept pampering us. When we told some friends about our adventure, they said they had once been upgraded to First Class too. However, every time the stewards brought wine and food, they turned it down, afraid they would have to pay extra. (It never occurred to them to ask.) Their trip was an economy flight with wider seats; ours was positively sybaritic.

So, Nana, your openness, your ability to appreciate, will take you to First Class places you have yet to imagine. I know your escrow is awesome, and you have the ability to let it in. Thank you for your inspiring post.

John, your beautiful message touched my heart and brought me tears of happiness. “Not only did we have the wonderful feeling of creating such a great event, we then got to enjoy it.” The little things we ask for can become so very grand…all possibilities evolving into reality. Those marvelous upgraded tickets of loving energy sent/asked and from God our Source-received with happy open hands.

What tickles me pink is that I received my first upgraded tickets in Frankfurt, too. They are amazing gifts and most appreciated. It's awesome when asked in happy or good vibrations, I receive that very happiness or kindness back.

Your lovely story, being close to Jeanie, the one true love, was of utmost importance…a real treasure. Can you imagine a world that offered all the love we were given? It’s absolutely incredible to imagine. Yet still, just to be able to unconditionally love … and know the feeling is something to be cherished from the deepest parts of self.

Your heart is very big and kind John. Thank you for your wonderful message. I send you warm vibrations, great energy for your next projects, and many wonderful & happy honeymoons via first class, holding hands next to Jeanie…your soul mate…your life partner.::hearts

Hi Joy-Lise,

Thank you for your warm welcome.

P.S.:  it is my dream also to become a writer, I have so much life experiences behind me and  would very much enjoy you directing me to your novel.

Joy-Lise, you are a writer! You have written many beautiful posts on this forum. You have already found a teacher to help you write better (your former boss) and have apparently helped write many good letters for your current boss.

I think it would help if you did not draw a line between the writing you are already doing—easily, naturally, and spontaneously—and being “a writer.” If you allow yourself to expand what you want to share, you will easily become the person you picture as the writer.

I tried to write a book for years. It wasn’t until I let myself have fun with it that I blossomed. This forum is a wonderful place to share your life experiences from an Abraham perspective. I think people would enjoy reading more of yours. Then you could expand what you enjoy writing, into a book or whatever pleases you.

Warm thoughts,

John

P.S. The easiest way to find out more about me and my book is to go to the Homepage listed in my Profile here. You can also look me up on Amazon in the U.S. or Canada.

Oh John

What a gift your response is to me as I read you now, you being an Aber psychologist and you appreciating my posts means the world to me.  I consider my own "psy"  like a brother and he also encourages me to write a book.

I went to your profile and immediately ordered your book.  Can't wait to fly with you and sweet wife.

I am sending a powerful rocket of desire that the book I'm about to write will feel like dancing with dolphins - it's a dream of mine to do such a thing - you just reminded me that I can do it just with the joy that my book (the many miracle stories I have experienced or witness in my life) will bring to my readers.

You made my day John, thank you so much for your kind words.

John,

A couple of hours ago I made my 1st post on this magnificent website.  I really want everyone to know my story.  It just keeps getting better and better!  When I was contemplating making my 1st post, I spent some time looking at all the rest of you.  You had this amazing amount of activity, and I was drawn in.

Thank you, John for giving me the confidence to start putting it out there.  I have my wonderful husband to talk to about all this magnificent "stuff"!!! ... and a few good friends, but I find most of my circle of friends are just on the cusp of asking....if that!  I know that I am out there on the leading edge!  I have had some "over the top" experiences over the last two years, and I am anxious to share with like minded individuals.

You'll find just the beginning of my story on the Tell Us About Yourself Board

Jeanie and I have a deal that you can have with anyone you’re close to. It’s actually similar to the deal all of us have with each other on this forum. The agreement is: whoever of us has the most Abraham response will be listened to.

So, when we’re driving down a 55 mph highway, and the guy in front of me is going only 45 (okay, 55), and I’m going Grrr! behind the wheel, Jeanie will say something like, “His girlfriend probably just broke up with him.” I glance at her, ready to grrr in her direction, but I don’t.

She’s right, grrr! Why he’s doing what he’s doing is none of my business. My business is to handle the reality before me and stay in a positive place. (You may wonder, how I got all that out of Jeanie’s comment, but like most married couples, we now have our own language.)

Abraham talks about some cheery person telling someone low on the Emotional Guidance Scale that they create their own reality, with the reply, “IF I did, you’d be gone.” We try to be sensitive to each other, but, at bottom, we both accept what we teach—even if the other is disgustingly right.

Hi Leigh,

Nice of you to ask. I originally wanted to be an engineer. I still have a great love for computers and technology. However, when I got to college, I found people more interesting.

I think I was always a natural therapist. Looking back, I can see how I would help my friends talk through problems, even as a teen.

My father was an engineer and my step-father was a physician. When I was growing up, it was important for my mother that I get an advanced degree. She even once said, “You are nothing without a Ph.D.”

I remembered that comment when I called her after passing my final exam for my doctorate. Her response was, “That’s nice.”

What? After all these years of trying to meet your expectation, this is all I get—“That’s nice.” I didn’t say that, but it’s what I briefly thought. Of course, she had moved on. She had been studying the Seth material and didn’t care what I did. At that point she was happy that I was happy. How I got there didn’t matter.

We talked about it, and when she had made that silly comment about “You are nothing …,” she had been afraid that I wouldn’t be able to get a job.

Fortunately, there were some other reasons I chose to become a psychologist, like understanding myself and other people.

Hi John,

Thanks for answering my question.

It is amazing what is known about the brain today, and yet, how much we still don't know.

When we are aware of ourselves, there is (something/someone) called an "observer".  Who do you think the "observer" is?

Just curious.

Thanks.

Leigh :)

What a fascinating and inspiring thread, how did I not land here before?!

I'd say "Welcome" John, but it seems inappropriate for someone who's been at the party so long now.

Instead, "Great to see you here, hope you are having a good time!"

It's funny, the only reason I didn't study psychology was because (from my then-perspective) I felt I would have to limit my mind and go about slotting square pegs into round holes.  Said I, slotting psychologists into the psychologists' hole! ::devil ::devil

I've learnt a lot since then!  ...But I still love when I see someone approaching something established from a new/different perspective.  Your wide-open mind is a huge inspiration to me.

::rocket

And thank you for reminding me of the occasions when I woke in the morning with words ready for writing.  Words which flowed almost despite me.  Thank you for the reminder not to try to write right, but to write what feels good.  It's a good time to remember.

Welcome John! You rock! :)

You wrote: "we are so focused on asking that we don’t listen," and I think this is SO KEY!!

Someone wrote about this in another thread:

Abraham: Now let's go back to the restaurant again.

So you've placed your order, and now the waiter is going by your table again, so you grab the waiter by the apron and you say:

"Do you remember what I told you I wanted? Did you write it down? Let me see where you wrote it down. Did you tell the cook exactly what I told you? Come back here in about two minutes, I want to talk to you about that."

::LOL

In other words, you don't keep asking--and asking and asking and asking. As you said so clearly, you asked, and then you just sort of let it go. You trust that the process will bring it to you.

So what you're really saying to us is, "I have more faith in the restaurant system than I do in Universal forces" that have put this earth in orbit? That keeps it spinning in perfect proximity to other planets? That keeps the tomato on this planet eon after eon?

And MC wrote:

You just made me think of receiving in a new way. It reminded me of getting a massage. And then I thought, suppose what we are asking for is a massage. So the universe is like "okay we'll give you a massage, just lay down and don't do anything so you can receive it." But we keep running around the room saying "I want a massage! Where's my massage?" And the universe is like "well, we can't give it to you until you stop doing stuff, and just lay down and receive." We finally lay down, but we keep tensing up and rolling around and sitting up "Where's my stuff? Where's my massage?"

How can anyone get a massage that way? ::LOL

It's done. It's done. It's done. Chill out, play with your dog, and all the answers and actions and physical rendez vous and such will flow easily and naturally...

Hi Ocean,

I’m delighted to be welcomed any time.

It's funny, the only reason I didn't study psychology was because (from my then-perspective) I felt I would have to limit my mind and go about slotting square pegs into round holes.

I did feel a certain amount of pressure to think a certain way. I began studying the Seth material when I was in graduate school. I only told a few people. In the minds of my professors (as far as I could tell at the time), only one type of person received inner messages, and that type usually needed to be medicated until the messages stopped.

The best analogy I have ever heard along these lines is, Psychosis is like having a leaky roof. Channeling is like having a water faucet.

Your wide-open mind is a huge inspiration to me.

Thank you. I have had a lot of wonderful teachers who opened the path for me.

And thank you for reminding me of the occasions when I woke in the morning with words ready for writing.  Words which flowed almost despite me.  Thank you for the reminder not to try to write right, but to write what feels good.  It's a good time to remember.

You are so welcome. I imagine you have and will write beautiful things.

It is great to see you here, Ocean.

Hello!

I need to write an intro (I wrote one a long while ago) but I wanted to chime in and tell you how inspiring it to read about how much you enjoyed writing your book - that's how I feel about my music.  My current avatar is a pic of me at a holiday show I did at the infamous (now closed down) Plush Room in downtown San Francisco.

I'm going to look for a thread about telling our stories the way way want them and if there isn't one I'll start one!

Hi Brenda,

It’s wonderful that you feel that way about your music. That is the best. I’m not familiar with the Plush Room, but it sounds impressive.

There are several threads about story-telling that you might enjoy. I’m looking forward to reading yours.

OK - just as soon as I have time to take time off basking in my wonderful "what is!"

For instance,  I wanted to live in a home in Marin County...next to running trails, near the water...and I wanted my ex-BF of 3 years ago back.

2 months ago I started dating him again, and 4 days ago I moved into HIS house...in Marin County...next to running trails, near the water...

HE NEVER HAD A HOUSE BEFORE AND HE IS FROM SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS!  Santa cruz mountains is South Bay (San Francisco Bay).  Marin County is NORTH bay, where I wanted to live, NOT HIM.  he just happened to move there because the house became available through a friend and he likes it here now.  I JUST HAPPENED to get a job in the same town, Novato - and I was trying to get a job in Mill Valley!

tee hee!

Brenda,

Wow! You have definitely lined yourself up. (Jeanie and I want a house on a bay, so we may be your neighbors one day.)

You seem primed to do what we did on our first class flight—let it get better and better. This is just the beginning. You opened a door (literally) to a new way of being. Wonderful.

Hello John. Hello to You.

I am Dee & I am very new, yet very, very Old - I am certain that you will understand this contradiction.

I have very recently 'awakened' - for lack of a better word. This is a joyous (so, so, Joyous), yet strange  place & I am having great difficulty finding my... place & my purpose. I sense that I have great...possibilities. Source forbid that I should have to come back & do this again - I am ready to go home. I am focused upon "getting it 'Right' this time". And in that sentence most possibly lies my answer. Aaagh!

However, we both know that I created this & so I eagerly (yet slightly apprehensively) await to see what I have arranged for Myself.

I have created this place for myself - yet I am struggling to see......No. I see. I guess I simply seek companionship from another person who has reached where I have inadvertently  reached.

I guess I just wished to make contact. Who would've thought that the contact that I seek would have been with You. Congratulations to you, Mr W.

Hi, Dee.

If you’re looking for a purpose, from the Abraham perspective, our only purpose, ever, is to feel good. And the only action required is to think about something that makes you feel a little better (which is easy to do on this forum).

Focusing on “getting it right,” is an intellectual exercise that often keeps us mired in what we experience as wrong in the present. (What is “right” has usually been determined by some—often immature—authority figure in our past.)

Abraham makes a simple statement that really says it all: There is nothing more important than feeling good.

Nothing. (Sometimes when I contemplate that it bowls me over.)

The fact that you are thinking about these things and reading what is on this forum is a wonderful step, and your “so, so joyous feelings” are a powerful foundation for blossoming into your “great possibilities.” If you focus on those, everything else will take care of itself.

Welcome,

John

Dee,

Welcome to the Forum and to the Abraham Teachings. ::flowers There is truly Great Love Here for YOU!

I sense some struggle resulting from contrast.  You are about to learn how to tell a New Story.  Abraham teaches us to Tell the Story of Our Lives the Way We Want Them to BE!

I have only been a part of the forum for about a month.  I, like you, was drawn to John.  He is a wise and intuitive teacher.  ::bowSeveral of us have been exploring our stories with Leading Edge Friends that we have met on this site.  John started the thread and it is called “The Stories We Tell (and Hear)”  http://theabeforum.com/forum2/10503.html We have all lived our "realities" for so long.  Now, we can learn to be more "blended" beings.  "Pre-croaking Blending"...that's what Abraham calls it.

When I read your post, I wanted to hug you and tell you, "that you never get it done and you cannot get it wrong because you never get it done."  But I'll just let Abraham say it for me!

"You are magnificent beings, in the perfect place at the perfect time, unfolding perfectly, never getting it done, and never getting it wrong. Be more playful about all of it. "Today, no matter where I'm going, no matter what I am doing, and no matter who I'm doing it with -- it is my dominant intent to look for that which I'm wanting to see. I'm wanting to find thoughts and words and actions that feel good while I'm finding them. For in doing so, I am, in the moment, practicing the art of allowing all that I've been telling the Universe I'm wanting, for all of the days of my existence

Excerpted from the workshop in Asheville, NC on Sunday, October 29th, 2000

I look forward to "mixing it up" with you.   You will find my story at http://theabeforum.com/forum4/10281.html.  The Dragonfly has Landed.  Maybe someday you will honor me with your "Story"!

Hi Nana,

Thank you for your nice note. The book has actually gone significantly higher on the Metaphysical Fiction list a few times since my post. And the reviews from people on the forum have been wonderful.

Your timing is also exquisite. I just finished my final edit on the second book. In this one I managed to get Jeanie’s character into a lot of trouble. But all is well.

YAY! Happily~ever~after. I can really feel your connection with our loving Universe. Fun is the pathway to joyful outcomes. Yes indeed, I hear you.
::thumb"Trouble" is a cute little contrast "but all is well" because alignment feels good.

::rainbowWow thank you for sharing your breathtaking energy of well being, focusing and allowing. “Wouldn't it be fun if we could fly?”

And the Universe promptly said, “Sure John. Have fun, fun, fun!” And you did! Amazingly ~ beautiful. Your fun manifested into your inspiring book. Evolution is taking place, “our birth right” to who we truly are.

I’m totally in agreement that we are all capable to manifest any desire by simply feeling good, having fun, and  accepting our inherited love and joy.

Written by John Waddle: If you’re looking for a purpose, from the Abraham perspective, our only purpose, ever, is to feel good. And the only action required is to think about something that makes you feel a little better (which is easy to do on this forum).
I totally agree. Abe’s teachings are most definitely a threshold into all those joyful possibilities manifesting into reality in the now.  It’s about feeling good and allowing our spiritual side ‘to fly’. The thing that I love the most, I get it!  Your beautiful connection of love, joy and sharing “we” with Jeanie :exactly:gives me and our world wings to fly~~to the tune~~ I’m a kite, I’m a bird, I’m anything I want to be. Joy is wonderfully contagious...it does spread like beautiful wildflowers. My heartfelt thanks...your book is a wonderful reminder that I have wings to fly.

Love, smiles, joyful outcomes and laughter sent to you and Jeanie. Nana

Hello John,

I've really enjoyed reading this tread...how wonderful!  I joined this forum after it was started and just noticed it this evening. I am also so pleased to hear of the success that you're having with your book.

You make a very good point here, about listening, so I felt inspired to comment.

Two days ago, I had just finished composing what was to be a long message which was to be a request from the participants of this forum for assistance in understanding the nature of the resistance that I'd been harboring which resulted in a rather larger and nasty unwanted manifestation.  Even after the manifestation, I was still somewhat at a loss as to what I had done (from a vibrational standpoint) to have brought about the manifestation....but before I had the opportunity to post the message, I received the answer.

By the way, I to am a psychologist, an experimenta / research psychologist.  What got me interested in the field was a relatively new (at the time - 30 yrs ago) theory of perception which ran counter to the prevailing info processing theories of the day.  This new approach claims that all perception is fundimentally relational in nature.   It's entirely consistent with the teaching of Abraham which i find to be completely delightful.

...anyway, enough rambling for now, and I'm looking forward to reading your book.

Hi Rebecca, Thank you for buying my book. I love your reaction to reading about it.

This may not be the basis of your reaction, but I’ve been thinking about the idea that more and more people are becoming aware that the Law of Attraction goes beyond simply trying to get things we want. If we find a partner, we have to know how to keep the relationship joyful. If we get the new car or house, we soon realize that simply having things isn’t enough. Applying the Abraham principles is a powerful 24/7 meditation keeping ourselves focused on what we want rather than what we don’t want.

Many people who have been studying the Law of Attraction have realized that watching the news is usually a strong invitation to focus on what we don’t want. I think there is also a blossoming awareness that this applies to entertainment as well. Abraham has noted that they wouldn’t read whodunits, because it’s not worth going through all the negative focus.

I think this is one reason that people sometimes react strongly to hearing about my novel, and of course, the Sarah books. It’s the realization that we can be entertained without having to feel like a victim first—including the classic “inspirational” stories of someone who has something horrible happen and then transcends the pain.

I’m looking forward to the time when there will be many exciting books and movies with characters who know why they are where they are and thrive on the ride to the next level.

And yes, I love the Abraham DVDs.

Hi Brian,

There are many wonderful teachers on this forum. However, nothing tops being able to tune into your own guidance. Actually, one way to look at the insightful feedback people give here, is that it guides questioners back to their own knowing.

I studied Fritz Perls’ Gestalt work on my own in college. He had a quote that stood out for me. I’ll have to paraphrase it, but it was something to the effect: All experience is our own. Whether we experience something inside ourselves or outside ourselves has to do with breaks in the ego boundary.

I knew there was a powerful truth in that quote, but I didn’t really begin to understand it until I studied the Seth material.

Hi Everyone,

I haven’t posted on the forum for a while. I’ve been looking for an outlet for my ideas about the Law of Attraction that would appeal to people who are just dipping their toes in the water, and I think I found it on Examiner.com. I started as the Columbus (Ohio) Examiner for the Law of Attraction, and am now a National Examiner.

My goal is to put national events into the perspective that “all is well,” and we can be safe. So many news stories are interesting but scare people. (There’s even a name for it: Mean World Syndrome). I’ve always wanted to go to a news site and get an Abraham-type spin on the news, so now I’m doing it with a few stories.

I’m also writing some articles relating the Law of Attraction to different ideas in our culture—God, Rituals, being a victim, neurocinematics, the Super Bowl.

If you’re interested in checking me out, there is a link on my AbeForum home page, or you can just go to the Examiner site and put my name in the search box.

Would love to hear from you.

Warm regards,

John

John,

I can fly!

I think there are some synchronicities going on.

I almost never come in the section where people post their introductions.  Usually I only end up here if someone writes a post that really resonates with me and I want to know more about them.

Tonight I noticed your name as the last post in this area of the Forum and was drawn to it for some reason.  Before I had finished reading the first page of your introduction I had clicked over to Amazon, found your book and ordered it.

I am going on the Caribbean cruise next week and your book will be going with me.

When I was a child I had frequent dreams of being able to fly.  My favorite place to fly was about 20 feet above a pathway (like a horse trail) that goes along a cliff overlooking the ocean, up and down, and there are trees that I would have to go under branches.  Sometimes there would be walkers or horseback riders below me.

I had not had those dreams for many years and recently began having them again.  Just this a.m. my daughter and I were talking about where we are vibrationally and I said to her that when I have those dreams where I can fly I know my vibration is in a great place.

There is something more, I am not sure what it is; perhaps after I've read your book it will be clearer but the pull is strong that there is something. . .

I look forward to reading about you and your lovely wife who introduced you to Abe 8 years ago.

Have you been on any more cruises?

Hi Joyous Lady,

The Law of Attraction has brought us together. How delightful that you found my book. Flying is indeed a very high state (all puns intended).

Jeanie and I will be on the Caribbean cruise, and I look forward to talking with you (and signing your copy if you would like).

Warm thoughts,

John

Congratulations!

Don't you love when the plan comes together and all cooperative components show up for the party?

I will check it out!

John,

I did not know you were on the cruise when I posted that but saw you in the Forum for the cruise sometime between then and now and had lightly put your signing the book into my Vortex and, like everything else these past two weeks, it is going to manifest!!!

I am so IN.

Thank you for agreeing before I asked with words.  I look forward to meeting you and Jeanie on the cruise.  The book came yesterday and I began reading just the first few pages and love your style.

Warm regards,

Jeanine

Hi John

Like Jeanine I don't normally visit these threads but I in turn saw her name as a last post and decided to investigate...

And on her recommendation I've now also ordered your book and will have it with me on the cruise - hope to meet up with you there.

And thank you, Jeanine from all of us for being such a great help especially on the cruise forums. Look forward to seeing you again in a few days' time.

Grinning,  I believe I have inspired you to a good book.  Inspiring others is fantasy fulfillment for me.  :)

See both of you Saturday in the Crow's Nest.
