This is a rampage for the land I chose to be born in, the land called India, Bharat, Hindustan....

Where it is normal to walk up to a total stranger and address them as "Bhai-jaan" or "Behenji" (My brother-my soul, My sister)

land of my beloved peacocks, wild ones too..

Where most foods are eaten by hand, feeling its texture, the touch of your finger on your lips..

My beloved Kerala(state I was born in),
appams (mildly sweet, fluffy soft bread)  and stew off a banana leaf

and succulent mangoes so sweet you melt..

The land of tantra, all things physical divine, all celebrated

For Khajuraho, ancient temples with the most breathtaking erotic sculptures...

And the godessess.....

For Hindi, Punjabi two beloved languages.

Tu abhi hee mujh se jhuut bolne lagi? {You have started lying to me already?)

- Phone conversation I overheard on the streets of Mumbai. The man is teasing a young lady on the other end. Many a times one can figure out age, gender and the length and nature of relationship and more from a single sentence in Hindi.

The land where I could call myself 'Masto' translating to 'guy gone cuckoo', and people enjoyed it, and I could do anything that pleased me, coz I am cuckoo anyway!

For Bhangra, I haven't experienced a more livelier, more total dance yet.

For the boy begging in the streets who with his smile & the twinkle in his eye showed me "I'll figure out what I want, you do recognize who I am don't you? Go focus on what thrills you"

For the endless contrasts in economics, sexuality, attitudes...freedom, helping me crystallize my preferences so clearly. And teaching me the power of right focus  and an absolute love for freedom in every arena, for everyone

For helping me become the me I am today, the me I love and respect to bits.

George

See I told you I'm blissed

Yup, Count me in!

I've always wanted to see India, especially the upper part first, Himachal Pradesh, because a very dear friend of mine comes from there.

I love the sensuality of Indian culture and the colorful clothes and food make me high, arrrrrrr!

I love Indian food and I'm so happy to know how to make a few Indian dishes. Just today I have made Indian style lentil with basmati rice, yummy!

I love it that Indian people generally have such a sensual healthy broad perspective on lovemaking...

What a huge and diverse beautiful country it must be!

And I am very happy your economy is boosting.

Cheers, George :)

Christine, know that if you could have said a 100 things to me this is what would've touched me the most.  This has been my prayer, to live life with an open heart and intensely in & for each moment.

I accept your words and am allowing it to get rooted in every level of my consciousness.

Love ya,
George

Shari,

Its interesting how sometimes gratefullness can overwhelm. I didn't know what to write in response to your post and still don't. I'm getting a sense that somethings you just can't 'repay' or even respond in any way that feels satisfactory, the best I can do is say thank you.

Thank you very much Shari.

Love you,
George

I've always wanted to visit India and I think that it will happen within the next couple of years. The places that I would like to visit most are the sights that are significant in Buddhist history like, Sarnath and Bohd Gaya. As a little girl, I always thought that women from India were the prettiest and most exotic. I love their saris and jeweled bindis.

Today after attending a service at Agape, I went to a local Indian market/restaurant. It was great, I had a yummy lunch of veggie samosas and palak paneer! I also had a delicious mango shake :)

After lunch I went into the market and bought some of my favorite incense, Nag Champa, and Super Hit. Now my house will smell so nice!

There were some girls at the market doing free mehndi ( henna painting) and so I had them decorate my hands. They did such a nice job and I tipped them really well and now I have beautiful mehndi designs on my hands that will last for a week or two! I love India even though I've never been there!

I sent this to a friend, felt like posting it here:

Today morning I was taking a walk in a small lane, surrounded by large trees, and the only sounds to be heard were a Koel (Cuckoo) , the breeze and some music from the temple nearby - a thought came into my mind - India is like a baby - you know someone may ask - education? can't spell cat.  manners? - bad. possessions - zilch. That's on paper. Then you hold the baby - you feel her breathing, she looks at you into your eyes and you're spellbound from head to toe. Nothing else matters.

I am very blessed to be born in this country.

There was this ad for a Strawberry flavored condom on TV that caused controversy as being too forward for this ancient land. The minister for culture opined it was in bad taste, promptly the company launched more flavors, including Banana & Grape.
