Any chance that there is an easy way to disable emoticons so I don't see them when I read people's posts? Also, to increase font size in other's posts? My sanity and eyes thank you, respectively.

Hi ATW!  Welcome to the Forum!

Disable Emoticons? ... I confess I haven't the foggiest - David will chime in on that one.

I can tell you how to enlarge the text though:

At the top of your browser, click "View", then "Text Size" and depending on what browser you are using, you'll see the possibilities for enlarging the text on the page.  In Firefox you can click "increase" or "decrease", and you can click them repeatedly to make the text a little larger each time.  In Explorer you click small, medium, large, and so on.

Good luck and enjoy the forum!!

Love,
Jody
(I did not add any emoticons since you seem to not do well with them.  I'm curious if it's just a preference you have for unadorned posts, or if it is a technical problem - if the latter perhaps it can be remedied.)

Another way to quickly change font size in IE and Firefox is to just press Control/+  or Control/-  ::cool

Not loading the emoticons is not a Forum setting option.

Jody,

Thanks for the expeditious reply. I'm squared away on the font thing. Now, to still the dancing images....

I like cute pictures just fine. I just like them a whole lot better when they aren't moving as I'm trying to read. I have to hold up my hands sometimes to block out entire sections of wiggling colors so I can concentrate on people's text.

I'll do a little research on the web about this. If I find anything feasible, I'll post it for others to follow.

Thanks for all your help,

allthoughtswork
