What makes some posts go way off to the right so that we have to use the scroll to read them?  What can we do to HELP the posts TO STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES?

Hi Brightlight,

What causes that is when we go past the "wrapping" with emoticons.  For example if you click on a repeating row of emoticons, until you hit "enter", the software doesn't know you want to do a "carriage return" and just keeps making the row longer and longer!  When you are writing text, it knows to do the carriage return automatically, but it doesn't have that mechanism when you are putting in emoticons.

Soooo... the remedy is, when you use emoticons, don't use "too many", and when you get to what would normally be the end of a row of text, hit "enter" to go down to the next line.

In general, just a few emoticons in each post is plenty.  Too many and we get these wrapping problems (I do spend some time cleaning these up, when I notice that the page has to be scrolled, I look for the post in the thread with a long row of emoticons and I go in and edit - and admittedly I could use my time doing something more productive! :))

So I really appreciate this question, BL!!  A few emoticons go a long way folks!  Don't overdo! Just like taking two "allows" a day, an emoticon a post keeps the moderator away!

Hey BrightLight,

What I usually do is preview my post to make sure it doesn't go

to the right too much. Once I'm sure, I click send.
