Hi, all! I went with yes, even though that was just the culminating moment for me.
There was reference to Esther and Abraham at the back of a Dr Dyer book I read, shortly thereafter I received my "spiritual training" to be a life coach. At the training all of the other people there had a connection that I didn't quite understand.
It seems that they all studied and attended workshops by two different people who channeled groups of beings and there were male and female names thrown around that I didn't understand ... LOL I just let it go right on by because I just didn't get it.
In a subsequent part of my training we were doing teleconferences and it was suggested that we watch the Secret. I magnificently attracted the DVD into my hands the same night that all of the other coaches were watching it out-of-state. As soon as Esther came on the screen I just freaked. I starting hitting my hubby on the arm saying "I KNOW her! Where do I know her from?" Then it began to dawn on me that I didn't physically know her but my thoughts were "I have known her or will know her." It was a feeling in every cell of my body!!
I spoke with the other coaches about my experience and they just laughed. "YES, she's the one we've been telling you about!!"
When I saw her on the Secret I had no idea that it was actually Abraham speaking thru her, but once I knew I had ZERO doubt because of that cellular connection.
I am so grateful that now I do have Abraham in my life!!
In joy, Steph

Hi out there!
I discovered Abraham from the 'Secret' DVD. When I bought the 'Secret' book, I realized that Abraham was not included and decided to investigate who this Abraham was. At the time, I was drawn to the material and concept but still very uncomfortable because I come from Judeo-Christian back ground.
Anyway, after 7 months of listening to 20 or so CDs, one workshop and reading 2 books (AAIIG and the last book on Emotion), I am seeing many positive changes in my life. I am still in the process of grasping the concept. I am so used to the idea of 'action', it is almost uncomfortable -even painful at times, not to do anything about issues in my life but to dream and pretend that I already have it. Slowly, though, I seem to be getting it.
I am very happy to find this group. I have been visiting for last two weeks and finally decided that I would love to have a community to have some of my burning questions answered - rather discussed and clarified - with help from you guys out there. You guys seem to be kind and caring bunch. I look forward to an exciting 2008 with you guys. Happy New Year!!! Happy Allowing!

Hi Passionate One! Welcome to the forum and thanks
for bumping up this thread! I've never seen it before today...
It's interesting to read how everyone here came to know Abraham.
I did see the original version of The Secret at a private viewing
in December 2006. I had no clue that Esther was channeling
Abraham... At the time I would have probably been resistant to the concept. I totally resonated w/ what was being said in the movie, especially when that "kind woman's voice" (I didn't realize it was Esther ) would speak.
A few times after that, I would casually over hear someone in conversation dropping the name "Esther Hicks"... "The woman in The Secret". I would perk up when I would hear this but I still couldn't pinpoint which person in the movie they were talking about.
In January, I was visiting a friend and she told me about her experience at a "seminar". She spoke about this woman who "channeled" & shared w/ me her profound experience... I was resistant and awe-struck at the same time. Resistant b/c I was raised in a fundalmentalist Christian home and "channeling" was considered "evil". Later in our conversation, I asked my friend if she had heard about "the woman in The Secret named Esther Hicks" not realizing that she was talking about the same person! She said, "Yes! In fact, I have her book right here! Want to borrow it?!" The book was AAIIG! And then she said to me "She is the woman I was talking about! The woman who channels!"
So I read the book and have been hooked ever since!
Hooray for Abraham!

Nope for me. Tara was reading Wayne Dyer who called Abraham "The Teacher of Teachers" and she noticed that they had the same publisher. So she went to that site, bought "Ask and it is Given" and when she read a little of it out loud to me (because she could FEEL that this was IT) I had the same response of feeling as though I had arrived somewhere important. We had just gone through a very, um, big time of contrast, and found that the CDs as well as the books were wonderful. Actually, we saw the Secret after that when Abraham was still in the movie, and we felt like the information was good, and Abraham was compelling, but that the movie felt like an infomercial with and we knew it would reach a lot of people, but we wanted to go straight to the source. So we did. We are on the "Glutton Program" for receiving weeklies and listen almost every day. What doesn't make full sense one day, will on another.
What we have gained in our lives really boils down to a feeling of relaxing into joy. All the rest is superfluous and wonderful.
Love I AM,
Carol
I want to add that the idea of channelling was not new to me, and I had years ago been in a group where there was a woman who channelled beings of a cluster called "Brotherhood of White Light". Ramptha also was compelling to me around the time, although my then husband was very skeptical, so if felt what I now call "upstream". Much, over the years, has led me to Abraham.Last edited on Wed Jan 9th, 2008 07:47 pm by CarolSmile

Yes, I definatley found Abraham thru the original version of The Secret. I was depressed and crying and pitiful and pathetic...well you get the idea and the next day after giving my kids to my mother in the law for the day (since dealing with the kids was out of the question)...I stumbled on Oprah while channel surfing and there it was. I immediately downloaded the movie and the one I got was the Abraham-Hicks version. Every time she came on the set I got goosebumps all over my body. That was it. I spend the entire day surfing the web for Abe and the rest is history.
Oh yeah...my husband came home that day and he ever so politely asked me..."what have you done to my wife and when will she be returning." My reply..."She will never be returning." His reply, "Fabulous, I like you way better."
Oh yeah again...I haven't given my kids to my mil or anyone since I have one delious moment after another with them everyday. I even pick my oldest daughter up early from school just to spend extra time with her.
THANK YOU ABRAHAM!!!!
All of my love,
Rachel.

This is fun!! I "found" Abe through the teachings of Orin, especially the book "Living With Joy". (Orin is an entity channeled by Sanaya Roman.)
I totally loved Orin's teachings, but when I finally read AAIIG, my soul just jumped for joy!! It was like I had come home finally !
The crux for me in the Abe teachings (very similar to the Orin teachings by the way) is the FUN and Joyous way that Abe presents their material.
  I was meant to LAUGH!!
........ I still love reading other books ........ but always come back to Abe for the laughter !!

I use to frequent the 6WBM(eating/exercise program) forums and although I hadn't visited it in awhile, one day last fall, I decided to pop in. There was one thread title asking if there were any people using LOA along with the program. I had no idea what LOA was and was curious. Reading the responses I learned there were two books with the title LOA. So to Amazon I went. After reading all the reviews I learned the one by Esther and Jerry Hicks was more in depth. I hit my local B&N and bought the cd set that included LOA and AAIIG Part I&II.
I took to LOA right away, but then after a couple months put it aside for awhile. Then one day, I decided to start listening to AAIIG and now, I can not only no longer put it aside, I can't get enough of it!! I've since read/listened to all the books and some of the workshop recordings.
Some where in there I decided to rent The Secret from Netflix, then later learned that there was another version with Esther Hicks in it. I did purchase a copy with Esther from Amazon Marketplace. Although I love my abe, I did really enjoy both versions.

This could have been my husband and myself!! We have not had the dialogue, but the feelings are the same. Although neither of us were aware of it, my husband has been living the LOA for the most part, most of his life. He started reading Sanaya Roman and Orin about the same time I got into Abe. Now that we both understand it, we can see that he's always known it. Then there's me , I lost my way somewhere along the way, but it's all good, I've found it again.

Yes, the first version of the secret let me to Abraham. (I've never seen the second version).
The way that the movie "The Secret" appeared in my was quite magical. During last year, I was studying Reiky, reflexology, because I knew there was sth missing in my life. At that point (31 years old, no family, no partner, only just one friend, not very good environment at work, etc) my life has collapsed into a never-ending boredom. I lost the connection with the spark of life. Mu studies of reiki and reflexology helped, but there was still sth missing.
One day, one of my students (I work as a teacher) gave a dvd. She said it was a copy of a movie I was going to love. She didnt tell me what it was about. So I thanked her and forgot about it. Just a few days later, on Saturday night, I was watching tv and by "coincidence" , I dont remember why, I opened my journal and I found the dvd there. I was bored, so I decided to watch it.
I was fascinated by the first few seconds of the movie, really captivating. But when the teachers started talking about the secret, OMG, it felt like my inner being was jumping of joy all around my body. Tears of joy ran over my face a few times, because I finally found what I was looking for.
The funny thing was that I was having some beer when I started watching The Secret so the teachings that were being taught were going into my brain much faster than if I had been sober. I remember that my mouth was LITERALLY wide open at a certain point. After some time, investigating about law of attraction in internet, I found Esther-Hicks and Abraham in you tube, and here I am, enjoying my life as never before.
A strong emotion of gratitude goes through my heart at remembering this.
My life changed 100% thanks to The Secret and got even better thanks to the teachings of Abraham. I'm really enjoying my life for the first time, and it is wonderful. There's nothing more important than to feel good.
All is well my friends.
Charmed.

my vote is "no" to this question....far TOO MANY things/situations got me to this point...all before this SECRET MOVIE or even any Abraham material....mid-late 1980's, etc.
i do think though...everything happens for a reason....
AND everything out there....is THERE because someone "called it forth"...
therefore EVERYTHING has a place....and a "match" to someone....
(i am sure there is an exact Abraham quote(s) along these lines)
therefore, i see value in the SECRET MOVIE even within all the glitz...likewise i see value in what, and "how" Abraham/through Esther, delivers the same ideas.
IS one better than the other, of course not...nor is any of the fore-mentioned books and teachers thus listed.
each person out there will be a frequency-match to exactly WHAT they need and WHEN they need it.
as i see it and choose to practice "it"...(LOA)....we have a choice to pay attention....and then act on what comes into our view/path.
one teacher/channel NOT mentioned yet.....one that i really enjoy, "he" is BASHAR that "comes through" a california fellow named Darryl Anka....he began his work in late 1970's/early 1980's....similar timeframe to the begining of Ramptha/JZ Knight's info. (SETH/Jane Roberts was before these two...by a few years, i believe)
interesting thing to maybe note here....we are ALL channels....on some level...and that "channeled" works have been around for thousands of years in all cultures. a bit of research would be needed to discover this...and really it doesn't matter, except for those of you out there "slightly" freaked out by this notion...this might ease your mind/heart some.
i tend to gravitate to this phrase:..."what we put out IS what we get back"....similar in "vibe" to: what we sow, we reap.....
a lovely flip on the golden rule:
"do unto others as you would have them do unto you"....if one thinks about it!
that is all.
live IN joy...and JOY will live IN you.....

Not sure how to answer this......
I already had Ask and It Is Given and The Amazing Power of Delierate Intent sitting on my bookshelf when I read The Secret.I got those books as a set from one of my book clubs(liked the titles).I read AAIIG,but it didn't really do anything for me at the time.
Then The Secret came out.I kept seeing it all the time, and I found the cover and title interesting, but didn't buy it for quite awhile. Then one day I just decided to get it,not even knowing what the book was about.I'm a bookworm and love reading just about anything.
When I got home that day,Oprah was having the second show featuring some of the teachers from The Secret. So I ended up learning all about the book I had just bought that very day!Of course, being new to LOA,my mouth was hanging open at the timing of it all.Especially since I hardly ever watch Oprah,or the channel she's on,yet my tv was already on this channel when I turned it on!
Read The Secret that night, and the whole time I'm thinking 'I've already heard all this before'.So right after I finished that book,I went and pulled out my Abraham-Hicks books, and read them cover to cover.Used The Secret and Abe together for quite awhile.I will always love The Secret for really firing me up about LOA,but it's Abe that I'm sticking with!!

My friend borowed me Secret movie without Esther in it(now I bought the original one too.) So I searched about law of Attraction on amazon and saw AAIIG book, but I thought it was definetely religious, so i did not even look at description. I bought other book about LOA, which I also liked.
Then my other friend borowed me one art of allowing cd and I was instantly hooked.
And now I bought AAIIG and other books and cds.

My answer is yes, but not in a totally direct way.
On Dec 3, 2006 (the day after my birthday) I was on a weight-loss forum and someone made reference to The Secret. I did not know what they were talking about but was intrigued enough to do some research.
That day I found the movie online (the second version without Abraham) downloaded it and my husband and I watched it together. I remember I was close to tears from the beauty of it. That same day I bought the book and signed up on the Powerful Intentions forum.
From the Powerful Intentions forum, I first heard about PATHS and signed up for that. I had amazing results using PATHS and started talking with other PATHS users. As it turned out, I kept hearing about "Abraham" over and over. I had no idea who Abraham was.
A week or so later, I went into Barnes and Noble looking for "Law of Attraction" by Michael Losier. They did not have it in stock, but I did see "Law of Attraction" by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I also saw a reference to Abraham on the cover. So I bought the book since I kept hearing so much about this Abraham.
Well, I wish you could have seen my face later that day when I read the first couple of chapters and realized just who this Abraham really was! I remember saying out loud "Who in the world would ever believe this nonsence?" (though "nonsence was not the exact word I used)
However, I kept reading and by the time I got to the fourth or fifth chapter, not only did I believe it, but I felt like on some level, I had known it all along. I then gave it to my husband, Raymond, to read with the request to please read the entire book before making judgement. Happily, he totally "got it" as well.
Today, we sleep, eat, and breathe anything that is Abraham. Our lives are so full and meaningful and all the questions we formerly had about the meaning of live have been answered.
We feel so blessed

Me too! On PBS! I was in such a full on depression I couldn't get out of bed, and he came into my t.v. and got me out of it. Bless him!
Then I saw the secret a year later.
Then I discovered Abe a month or two ago.
And inbetween each discoverey was more anti-deliberate creation on my part. So I guess the universe isnt' giving up on me.
