I watched the second version of the secret first. The next time I watched the secret it was the first version. I watched it a few times and really thought nothing of it. Then one day I searched law of attraction through google. I remember hitting some random page at the bottom because I specifically didn't want to watch the secret. I saw this really interesting blog about LOA. I backspaced to google, and saw LOA Esther Hicks, and I decided to look it up. When I saw her face I realized I had seen her on the secret.  Funny thing is I was intentionally avoiding the secret teachers, but something in me gravitated to Esther as soon as I saw her website.

Then I looked the CD set up on Amazon. My thought was I will check the price here and call a local bookstore to see if it is there. If it was I going to pick it up as soon as I leflt work. Guess what? It was there.

I have been on this path for years. This is true and consise(at least it is for me:allgood)

Welcome to the Forum!!

Your story about finding Abraham sure points up that there are NO coincidences.  You were attracting Abraham, and the Forum, like a magnet!  YAY!

I came to Abraham also via "coincidence", while traveling the last book I picked up was Ask and it is Given, and when I sat at the airport waiting for my flight I started to read and that was it. It made my hair stand up on ends, "thrillbumps" allover and I knew I had found what I was looking for.

Since then I have read everything I could lay hands on. I'm on the weekly CD-list and just love them, hear them all the time.

I think the Secret was really masterfully done, and if I look at it, it brought around 40% of the people particitpating in this thread to the teachings, so I would say it has done a terrific job to spread Esthers and Abrahams work into the world!

Greetings one and all,

About 9 years ago two massage clients gave me several Abraham tapes at the same time. I now realize that this came about due to my hunger to more clearly understand Spirit.  I do own both versions of the Secret, I enjoy both of them.

My first interaction with channelled information was over 30 years ago (1975) when I read Jane Roberts book "Seth Speaks". In 1984 I was introduced to the teaching of Sayna Roman.  Sayna channels "Orin".  I firmly believe that Orin, like Seth,  is from the family of Abraham.::rainbow

Cheers,

I was led to Abe back in 96, I think it was.  After having read all the Seth books two and three times over the preceding 8 -9 years and still not having real success with the You create your own reality concepts, I was *asking* bigtime for another source such as Abraham.  I found a reference to them in the back of a book about channeling and sent for their books "A New Beginning" part one and part two.  I have been hooked on them ever since and my life is the one I had desired for so long, full of fun, freedom and creativity.

A few months ago I was browsing Barnes & Noble while shopping and I noticed this little daily quote book on a table with other books. After shopping around for other things, I decided I wanted it and went back to get it when I noticed a book with the title "Ask And It Is Given" laying right near it. I almost thought it was a religion based book (with the bird on the cover and all), until I saw the line "learning to manifest your desires." I thumbed through it for a good 5 or 10 minutes before deciding to just buy it. Something about it resonated with me.. I didn't even get the little quote book I had seen! I can't remember what it was even called now... :( lol
Anyhoo, I started reading it and at first I had to wrap my mind around the entire concept. But the more that I read, the more that it started to make sense. Then, at work, one of my friend mentioned how her mom ordered The Secret and how it was on Oprah.. It wasn't until she received that book and I flipped through it, did I realize it was about the same exact thing! I bought it soon after. Then I bought The Law Of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham" after that.

After reading about the entire subject for a few months now, I've realized that how things have worked out so far for me, totally line up with this. I've made some small things happen since discovering LOA and hopefully some bigger things will manifest very soon. :)

YAAAAAAAAAY!

YAAAY FOR THE SMALL THINGS TO GIVE US CONFIDENCE TO BELIEVE IN THE BIG ONES! LOL.

The great thing about it is that you hold 100% of the power over your manifestations.. have you seen the new Abraham-Hicks video on 'you tube?" I will private message you the link...

Your story is really good that you were very open to Abraham from the beginning, ASK & IT IS GIVEN was a big breakthrough for me...

I'll never be the same again :beautiful: LOL...

Anyway, great story...

I guess it's too late for me to edit my original post but I wanted to let you all know, I have since stumbled upon that "religious publication" from that supermarket checkout line and it is called "Spirit Guide". I'm very happy this little book led me to the Abraham-Hicks website.

I was at a health food store and wanted some CD's to listen to while driving.  Picked up the set of LOA but when I saw the name Abraham on the cover I hesitated.  Having lots of fundamental religious history I did not want it if it was religion.  So, I asked the clerk there if she knew anything about these authors.  She said she really did not but kind of stammered around as if to ask what I wanted to know.  I asked her if she knew if they were Christians.  She assured me that, "Oh, yes, they are Christians."  (Almost laughable now that I think about it!)  So, I did not buy the set.  I was drawn to it though (::rocket)and left the health food store without buying any CD's.  Then about a month or so later I received an email from Hay House speaking of the package they were selling of Esther/Jerry/Abraham "stuff" including LOA CD's and "Secret behind The Secret."  I was so excited, I said out loud - "Hey these are the guys that wrote that set of CD's that I wanted and THEY ARE NOT CHRISTIANS!!!!!"   Of course, ordered the set and life has been changing ever since!  ::cool

Hey you guys! Blue Shepard and AeroLynda, I totally get where you are coming from!

I was the same thing. I knew Abe wasn't religious but I knew they were channelled and for a while I was like 'nuh-uh too creepy'!

I had great fears about non-physical stuff only to find out that I am non-physical conciousness myself!

I read the conversations with god book but found some of the wonderful teachings seemed a bit far fetched to me. Anyway did alot of meditating by an Indian Guru, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and I didn't find enlightenment- not even joy. So I all about gave up & went to alternative medicine as my "spirtual connection".  Needless to say - IT WORKED, I balanced my subtle energy bodies & my emotions so well ( I used a subliminal brain wave program to reprogram my subcioncious mind- change my thoughts to more powerful positve ones) and the same day I did a brainwave session I was led straight to the secret!

I downloaded the original secret and fell instantly in love with Esther (and Abraham - that I did not know she was channelling at the time). I looked her up and was suprised to see that she was a channeller- how weird!

Anyway... i kept on feeling a compulsion to listen to their materials. Like a magnetic force kept on drawing me to them... ( i think this was my inner being saying - go ahead girl!)

Soon this impulse was very strong and curiosity overcame any doubt. I got such a surge of positive energy flowing through my body when I listened to their stuff. I felt AT HOME, " finally! Non-phsycial conciousness" I could relate to.

Esther makes Abe so relatable! The simplicity of their teachings is really wonderful!

::LOL

Loved reading your stories! Powerful asking always overcomes weaker resistance, something about Abraham- when you are ready for their material it always shows up! They are simply irresistable! :)

No.

Over a five year period I had been reading mostly Wayne Dyer (after seeing him on PBS) and Depak Chopra (On Oprah) books and some that they had recommended. I spent that time experimenting in my life with what these authors were saying. I knew no one who was in to this kind of stuff for that whole time. Looking back I saw that it was perfect because it gave me the time that I needed to proove to myself that this stuff was for real before I allowed myself to the influence of others opinions (my thing) but when I was ready I was ready.

After these five years I was told 3 times in five days that I should read "Ask and It is Given." First by a life coach from I think Nightengale that I "happened" to connect with through a phone number to at the end of a CD called The Strangest Secret which I "mistakenly" received in the mail. I couldn't afford the life coach, stating that I couldn't at the time even afford to file the bankruptcy fee which I wanted to file. The coach said he wished to suggest something for me: To read a book called "Ask and It Is Given." A day or so later I was listening to a CD by Dyer and Deepak, Living Beyond Miracles and on the CD they talked about how wonderful this same book, "Ask and It Is Given" is. Then a day or so later a couple came by to my newly opened art gallery at my home out in the middle of the country. Within minutes something they said led me to ask if they were familiar with Metaphysical stuff and they said they sure are. They were ministers of Science of the Mind, etc. We talked for a short time and guess what they said to me....yep, that I should read this book, "Ask and It Is Given." I said alright already I get it....I went out that very night and bought it....that was I believe one year ago today! (To my wonderful surprise Wayne Dyer wrote the forward to Ask and It Is Given which really helped me to be open to the Intro that talks about how Esther receives these messages. At the time I wasn't familiar at all with channeling and not that keen on it) I have experienced a complete and wonderous life shift since that night....Now, I have met countless Abers, not to mention countless others who are on different by complimentary paths to alignment.

Please help me celebrate ::grapevinethe first year's anniversary of the most wonderful, exciting, exhilerating and joyful year of my life so far....with much more to come!
