Not only isn't the Secret a secret, but as Abraham pointed out in the seminar on the recent Mexico cruise - the Secret film purported to be finally letting out a secret that had been held "in the few" for centuries, what they actually failed to do was reveal the "real secret" which is that this information is known by all of us when we arrive in this life BECAUSE it is delivered by SOURCE...

Ya know, I just realized when I read the above over again that an Abraham Cruise is trying to become a rocket of my desire. Now I want one!!! Now I am carrying that vision around with me.

I've always known about the crusies but I just let them pass me by without much interest. Now I'm not only interested, I'm excited!! I'll just vibrate towards whatever Cruise will suit me and maybe I'll see ya there!!!

Dee, new Cruiser

"I tried to sell Bob Proctor an e-workshop entitled "how to get rich selling other peoples's concepts" in response to his $2000 course on The Science of Getting Rich but all I got in reply was an email informing me that I had been successfully unsubscribed from his newsletter. LOL!!:shades:"
Thats great, wish I'd thought of that. Guess old Bob doesnt have much of a sense of humour when it \comes to his profits....

Yes Kendall... The Secret lead me to Abraham. And once I 'found' them the connection was instant!  It just makes sense to me, like the last piece to the puzzle.

No, it was my friendly neighborhood psychic/shoulder to cry on. He gave me a book by Lynn Grabhorn. I read it and tossed it aside for a few months, then re-read it and noticed her reference to a Hicks family from Texas at the beginning. I did a search using Hicks Texas and Law of Attraction and found the website. I purchased AAIIG, loved it, then bought the other two. I also signed up for the quotes by email.

I was given the book and movie of The Secret, but finally ditched the DVD...sold it used to Sam Goody and got 10 whole bucks for it. Thank you, the Secret! :P I kept the book, there are some good quotes in it.

I have Lynn Grabhorn's book "Excuse Me Your Life Is Waiting" on my dresser, collecting dust. It started out well, but I find it kind of redundant at this point. My main concern is living well and keeping control of what I'm thinking and how I'm feeling. There was a time when I just didn't get it at a gut level and thought I had to buy another book, another CD, another Ecourse. Now I understand it's all about ME and no book or CD is going to do my job for me. And my job is to think and feel. There's no trick and it ain't no secret!!:P

I agree as well. But when I first began I was in such a deep hole, that Lynn's constant repitition of feelings and getting jazzed was sorely needed. I'll say the book annoyed me out of my depression, it felt like a challange.

I own these books about LoA: the three Abraham books, Lynn's book, Michael Losier's book (which is totally based off Abraham, sort of a Cliffnotes), a book all about writing and LoA by Henriette Klauser and a book called Your Heart's Desire by Sonia Choquette, not to mention The Secret in book form. Both the Klauser and Choquette books I had checked out from the library for some lunchtime reading (I haunt the new books section at my library) and had fallen so in love I had to buy my own copies. Oh, and a book called Acting from a Spiritual Perspective, which is all about how to apply LoA to a career in acting.

Each book resonates with me, specifics that made me do an "ah-ha." Abraham is the one I got the most out of, but I was missing and overlooking some things and these other books filled in the blanks for me. Plus, they are an excellent source for success stories, which further motivate me.

I have two boxes full of excellent books. Most of which are full of the same info as the Abraham books, which are the ones that finally get through to me. I agree that there are many books out there that cover the same info in a fabulous way. I didn't realize that just reading those books wasn't going to do it for me. I wasn't getting that I had work to do and that work was reaching for a better thought/feeling deliberately. I also didn't "get" that I couldn't make a quantum leap from miserable victim to deleriuosly joyful. It is necessary to take short hops from each thought to a better thought up the scale. If I look back to where I was ten years ago, skip over all the time in between to where I am right now, it looks like a huge leap. But it was slow and difficult because I just didn't know, even after having read stacks of books on the subject. I must have thought I could buy my way into heaven one dollar at a time!! The great news is that getting to a better place is free-the work is hard if you're obstinate but you don't have to lift a finger to do it!!Dee

Actually I found The Secret through the Abe yahoo list.

Years ago I bought an Abe cassette tape in a yard sale in Melbourne FL USA for about 50 cents. I listened to it and went on about my business. That was before 1997; I was reintroduced to Abraham via "Web seeking" and this time, the teachings clicked. I'd been studying Sanaya Roman and Orin, Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, and other wonderful teachers for some time. I love them all; and the Teachings of Abraham have really added to that. I particularly like the Abe yahoo list. I've bought the last 3 Abe books. And I am really seeing the different in the life I am co-creating with Source by applying these wonderful principles.

Hi everyone,

I came arcoss their book Ask and It is Given about 3 or 4 years ago. I generally ask the universe to guide my attention. I was in a book store and their book caught my eye. I could not put the book down.

Recently, I discovered that I could listen to their seminars via their weekly or monthly subscriptions. I started with the monthly and found the audio incredibly inspirational and have recently added the weekly subsciption too. Awesome!

Happy to have found this forum today!

What a fun question.  Let's see...about 3 years ago a friend of mine encouraged me to order the free intro to Abe tapes, so I did. She had found them through a real estate coach of ours who was a big time Abe follower. Well, still in my Christian-closed mindset at the time, I couldn't listen to the tapes because the channeling didn't vibe and I felt like lightning would hit me any second. Turned them off and didn't listen again for years. After that though, I became very good friends with a woman from a self-actualization church. She never swayed me one way or another - just always came from love. Then I was introduced to Mike Dooley  and saw him speak live in Beverly Hills. It was a slow journey, but one I recognize as necessary to slowly peel away my layers and open my heart and mind. Once in awhile I would read an LOA book (including Grabhorn's like many of you) and I would read the Quarterly Journal from Esther and Jerry when it would arrive in my mailbox. Well...then the Secret hit and I was so drawn to Esther it was an incredible feeling. I watched the movie over 30 times. And so I picked up my Intro to Abe tapes again, began reading books, met people online and now here I am...in love with Abe and listening to Esther speak as often as possible. I swear to you I can't get enough. I read and study all day, often instead of doing my job. And this forum is so amazing - I feel as if I've been walking the pathway to this destination my whole life. And now I can put my feet up, grab a cool drink, sit back and chat with ya'll about our amazing lives!::yeah

Another one of those not sure which way to vote moments.  Someone pointed me to this site and the whole Abraham thing but after a discussion about LOA including The Secret.

I've been nibbling around the edges of "the secret" for years, and am familiar with many of the other persons and books others have mentioned.  Channeling and the energy concept has never been a problem for me.  I accepted that a very long time ago.

I finally got serious about LOA about a year and a half ago when I found The Science of Getting Rich by Wattles on the internet.  I even took an online course about applying SOGR that was very helpful, but I still lacked complete understanding.  I have been googling and looking into similar things since then.  It led me to the Abraham-Hicks website and I bookmarked it months ago.

When Oprah had the secret show, it was merely driftwood reminding me to order the books.  AAIIG is the right information presented in the right way for me.  I have read/seen lots of other material essentially saying the same thing, but good ol Abe nailed it in a way that really slapped me upside the head.  I am finally ready to put it into practice.

I voted yes.  I'd heard of Abraham-Hicks prior to the Secret, but never paid any attention.  None of that "channeling" junk for me!  But I finally listened to what they had to say when Esther was thrown in the mix with the other teachers in the movie.  I was hooked the moment I heard her talking about how focusing on "what is" creates more of "what is".  It was the first time I was able to wrap my mind around that concept.

This is my first time posting to the forum, so I should probably say "Hi!" as well. :)

YES! The Secret Original Version led me to Esther. I saw her on The Secret and was drawn to how she seemed like "the most loving & wise grandmotherly woman ever!". I wanted esther to be my Grandmother! LOL. I researched her and I was very suspiscious of the channeling but I had lauched a powerful rocket of desire::rocket

" I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION TO GET EVERTHING I WANT, I WANT TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL IN USING LOA, I WANT TO KNOW MORE... "

I ordered lots of material from other Secret teachers - James Ray, Joe Vitale, Hale Dwoskin, Bob Proctor & still wanted more, more, more! But one day I just got an impulse to download 'Ask & It Is Given The Processes' from audible.com & 'The Law of Attraction' . The knowing from this immediately answered my wanting- I had found a pure, infinite source of answers to my questions! I think once I allowed myself to recieve Abrahams words, & understood their beautiful complexity I felt sooo good that I immersed myself in them & have been on the Abe Train ever since.

I own a copy of the new Secret DVD as well- fun! & My family has all seen both versions but for some reason, they haven't desired to go any further, while I am here deeply into Abe. The material is floating around the house - Ask & it is given & the Law of Attraction & i've given them CD's but I leave them to their own devices. I know that my example of happiness & Well Being is enough and that all that matters is that I tend to my connection. That is why I am so grateful for attracting this forum. It satisfies my desire to network with others who are on the Abe-Train too. I can't wait till I can go the the workshops live & listen to the workshop cds. So thank you all for sharing.

The Secret & the book 'Wealth Beyond Reason' by Bob Doyle provided a perfect 'physically based' introduction to Abes teachings.  It all happened perfectly for me, I wanted to come into this gently... and I learned enough in the early stages to powerfully want more wether the info was channelled or not... :)
