Jody,
Thank me, thank you! This forum is so great for helping to carry the momentum of the cruise forward.
Speaking of David's being intuitive you can get an even better sense of that if you watch the dvd of our cruise that was shot by the Noordam crew. I get an impression from what is focused upon and timing of things that when David shoots he really seems to be tuned into this cruise right here and now as opposed to being obligated to capture footage.
I dig your new avatar pic too!

Well I finally got my Glacier Bay pictures done! There are also some shots in there of the interior of the ship and other Abraham friends. The very first picture is from after the first dinner, a few of us went walking around the outside on the deck. I took my camera but we were in a very thick fog bank and the only thing off the ship we could see was the wake. So there you go, the wake.
There are 97 pictures in the slide show. The still shots of the calving Margerie Glacier are approximately in the middle. Check out the wave that forms as the ice is falling in. You can change the speed to fast just for that part if you want.
Enjoy,
Rick

| Hi Rick! I just got through viewing your Glacier Bay photos. Simply outstanding! Your still shots of the huge calving are great. Gives one an idea of how massive that one was. Your pictures really capture the beauty of Alaska. Thanks for sharing with all of us. Also, I enjoyed the candid shots of the people and the ship shots. It's fun to see us all again and to remember what a great time we had. Next year, maybe we will have some bear photos. Hooray for the zoom lens. Now how do we get the bears on the ship and how do we get them to pose for us? You get to paint the bear(toes) claws red. Don't forget to bring your rainbow wig! You're terrific!

Hey vmatch! Glad you liked the photo's. People like you and David and Sondra and Otto and Tom and Mark and Sheldon and Ginat and Shelley and Laura and others have inspired me to take more people shots next year.
I will be more than happy to take bear shots also but I like to take along at least two people that I figure run slower than me so we'll see if we can't get Jody liquored up and into the woods.

Liquor - okay
woods - maybe
bears - NO

And don't think I didn't notice that I didn't rate a spot in that first sentence about inspiration and only manage to appear in the challenge section of your post, as in how to get Jody on a bear hunt! OY!
By the way speaking of pictures David says he's "this close" to getting his website problems solved and the pictures up - YAY!!!

This space is DELICIOUS!!! Thank you, thank you for sharing your freakin' amazing video and gloriously gorgeous photos!!
This place is raising my vibe thru the roof. This summer I started really feeling a connection with whales and a deep desire to meet some. I had this dream that I was a whale, swooping and soaring thru the water and the air...
In joy, Steph

And I don't think Rick's list was meant as too much of a personal competition. After all, how could it be. I wasn't on it at all! LOL

Carol (and any other mac users)
To watch this format you need to download and install a free programme called Flip4Mac WMV Player.
A google search should find it. It's worth installing as our sisters and brothers on PCs do seem to use this format often!!
Good luck with it

Oh my! I just saw this thread and am totally blown away by the energy conveyed. I can only imagine how much more so to have seen it in person! I now have a new "happy place" video! Seeing this has only increased my desire for the upcoming Alaska cruise! Minutes later my body is still "humming" and I feel SO good!
David, ! And thank you so much for this!!!
Love,
Karen

Wow, I'm so happy that this thread was resurrected and more of you could experience the video. Being there was one of the most amazing experiences David and I have ever had. It was magical. The whales were one big giant energy of LOVE. You can hear me on the video whispering inane things to David, but you don't see how I was bouncing on my toes almost unable to contain the excitement and hugeness of what was happening. I could reach out an touch a whale! (I didn't). David's face was glued to his camera but he was animated as well. I think we forgot to breathe there for a while!
And... I'm not even one of those people who goes to Alaska for the purpose of seeing whales! I don't consider myself an "animal person" really, and it was never a really big thing for me if I saw a whale (we saw many before this and on other cruises, breeching a ways off from the ship, and other people would start cheering and whooping...) I went on that whale watching excursion mostly because David and our friend Bec wanted to! And it ended up being SUCH a highlight for me!
Thanks for listening and bringing back a fantastic memory!
Love,
Jody
