Oh David! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You brought me right back to one of the best weeks of my life! Your photos are magnificent. ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. :)

You are a dear to have (1) documented the cruise so thoroughly and (2) shared your memories so generously.

Does anybody have any suggestions about a motel that I might stay in on the night of Saturday, July 19 in Seattle? I'll be flying in to Seattle Tacoma airport (not like crashing into it, but like, to it). So far on the previous 4 Alaska cruises I have flown in on the day of the cruise and this time around I want to see how it feels to get there earlier. Because I can never friggin sleep the night before, either from the anticipation or because I'm worried I'll miss my flight out of Syracuse. So at least this way if I can't sleep I'll know it's not the flight worry. ha!

Thanks for your time and high fives to Tara and Carol for being there and cheering on David and Jody for helping us to remember.

Rick

Hi Rick!

I've stayed at the Marriott Waterfront, the Fairmont (Holland America gives a room there the night before the cruise to those who stay in suites on the ship), and the Marriott airport... but there are many many many hotels in Seattle - something for every budget... I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a spot for the night before.  I agree that arriving the day before is so much more relaxing.  And Seattle is a fun place to spend a day as well.

So... dinner the night before the cruise? We'll start the picture taking a day early!!!!

David, that was great!  The delay might be perfect. I like seeing these fresh pictures more than two months since the cruise ended. I looked at them this morning before work and it generated a great feeling. I'm responding tonight on the heels of just looking at them again. It seems like a great way to keep the memories of that cruise activated. I think next year we should agree ahead of time that we will release our pictures in small bunches over the course of the following year. Do you think Jody would allow that?  ::LOL

Are there any more to follow? What about Linda's?

And now I want to thank Sondra for taking them. Sondra Thanks!

You had such a great variety of things. Great shots of Butchart Gardens which I haven't been to yet. Great shots of Tom and Mark. Outstanding variety of the Misty Fjords - a great advertisement for anyone considering that excursion!

Even your shot of the chair and footrest on the balcony for some reason made me pause and think about the Alaska '08 cruise and say out loud "It's going to be great."

Great shots from atop Mt. Roberts and I really like the shots of Taku Glacier from the air.

And wow, what a great whale fluke and eagle from Sitka! You other picture taking people make me want to be everywhere at the same time. #145 of the seal looking straight into the camera is a riot! And your Sitka scenery both from the ship and the shore is inspiring to me. I've been there four times and you have opened my eyes to new things to look for.

And my favorite part. Getting to see the faces one more time of our Abraham friends at the cocktail party.

Nice picture of Shelley and I and my glass of the Rosemount Shiraz.

Can you do me a favor? I really don't want to put anyone out. Can you come and take pictures with us again next year?

It is so great to have all of you helpers in on this with me in carrying the past cruise forward.

I jump at any opportunity I get to talk about the cruise.

I even signed up for a presentation in October from AAA (the non alcoholic travel people) called On Stage Alaska just so I can show up and hear about it and talk about it myself and show my pictures and my Dam Ships hat and shirt.

I like Alaska,

Rick

Hi Rick,

And thanks, Sondra and Linda.  What an interesting concept to hold off on all the pictures and spread them out over the course of the year.  I actually have some of Linda's I can put up too.   She got great shots also!   Thanks for your appreciation, Rick... it would NOT be the same cruise without you.

Enjoy!!
