::boatwave Hi everyone!! I've been having so much fun reading your postings about the cruise that I had to join just to tell you how much I am looking forward to meeting and playing with other Abers. My friend and I will not get in to Seattle until noon so may not make the gathering in the Crows Nest. Being from Florida I am having a wonderful time deciding what to pack. It is hot here right now so am looking forward to a little cooler weather, But I think one pair of shorts and definately some sandals are called for. :beautiful:

Welcome Lindatwo!  To the Forum, as well as to the Alaska discussion!!  May I add you to the rollcall on the other thread?

If you and your friend are arriving at noon, you should have no trouble at all making the meet-up!  The airport is 30 minutes from pier 30 (hmmm... 30 must be a good number!) and Abers always intend and receive prompt luggage retrieval and transfers! YAY!  We'll be in the Crow's Nest until 3, so if you can fly up even for a few minutes we'll be happy to see you.

Hi Kalena and Jody, Thanks for the prompt replies. I am from Bonita Springs florida. Thats between Ft. Myers and Naples in case your not familiar with the area. Yes, please add me to the other rollcall Jody, that would be awesome. We will definately try and find our way to the Crows Nest.  My friend Diane and I are just going to grab a cab from the airport. We thought that would be the fastest way to the pier. I have already done the online check in and booked my excursions. Diane has booked her excursions but I will remind her to do the online check in to speed things along. The excitement is building!!!! See you soon.     Linda

Just for you Sondra, I think I run a little warm as well. I have been known to wear sandals and shorts in the seminars even though they claim to be kept a bit on the cool side. On the cool side for Jerry and Esther is not the same as the cool side for me. They live in Texas and I'm in NY. It has also been warm enough in the ports for shorts.  (oh look, a rhyme!)   ::pt  ha!, another one!

On the Mexican cruise the classes were cycling, yoga, and pilates for $11 each. Be sure and have your Abe schedule handy when you book them as many conflict with the seminars. I do not recall any free classes.

Hope this helps.

It was the corny rhymes that I was referring to at the end of my post. Nice of you to pretend to not have noticed though.  ::D

Here is one from 2005 cruising from Juneau. The amazing sky over the open water out on the deck after dinner.

Here's my entry for 2005 sunsets.  Stunning there, and endlessly beautiful.  They also come around 10:30 or 11PM.

Whoa!! Surreal!!

I have that exact same picture that David posted above, enlarged and framed on my wall across from my desk.  As I read Rick's post and saw his picture I glanced up at David's picture and thought about how they were taken just one day apart.  Then David popped up and posted the same picture seconds later! ::wow

BTW David yours was taken as we sailed out of Seattle - the first sunset of the 2005 cruise!
:exactly:

How fun is this!!!

Thanks, Jody.  I did not recall what day.  I am impressed that you did.  I do remember the whole event so well. Cruises are major events in life.  That cruise was certainly especially spectacular!:exactly:

What guys, no sunrise pictures? I realize that is does get light about 4 a.m. but that shouldn't stop you. Here's a deck shot (starboard) of the view before we sail. The Crow's Nest is to the left of the stairs. Baseball fans: that is Safeco Field off to the (middle) right.

And cruisers, if you stay on the starboard side, you'll see the Seattle skyline float past as we sail off to Alaska.
