Hi Everyone, I'm new to this thread. So glad to find a spot to chat with fellow Abraham cruisers! My partner Bonnie and I (I'm Vicki) will be joining all of you on 7/20/08. We've cruised to Alaska before in 2001, but this is out first "Hicks" cruise. We've been invloved in "New Thought" for several years and love all of Abrahams books, cd's, etc. To have an oportunity to spend time on a cruise with Esther and Jerry as well as so many like-minded folks will be a real treat.
We live in Northern Idaho, so Seattle is only a 5 hour drive for us. We'll be driving over the morning of the cruise.
Looking forward to meeting everyone. I love the dining concept of open seating among our tables.

Welcome, Vicki and Bonnie! I am a relatively new forum member and will be going on my first Abraham-Hicks cruise. I understand that this thread will get very active in the coming months as "veterans" re-connect and share tips. Yes, the open seating is a great idea so we can mix and mingle, the "old" and the "new" people. As I have read this thread I get that some people would not miss this cruise for anything. I look forward to meeting you both!

Hi MaryAnn,
Thanks for the welcome. We lived in Tigard for a few years, so we were practically neighbors for awhile! I look forward to meeting you onboard.

Are you new to cruising, or just to the Abraham cruises?

Peg and I have been cruising all day today! We have been reading through threads and enjoying photos. Rick - your photos are helping us decide which off cruise trips we want.
When we got ready to make our air flight reservations we realized we do not know which airport in Seattle to use. Apparently, there are 3 or 4 airports in Seattle. I assumed it was the one called, "Seattle/Tacoma International." Is that correct? Decided not to make flight reservations until I checked on this.
Thank you. Marcia

Hi Marcia,
You are correct. Seatle/Tacoma International (SeaTac) is the airport you want. It's the main airport for the area. The rest are smaller ones.

Hi back, fellow former Oregonians! I have been cruisin' since taking up with Abraham, but never been cruising. I did go to a workshop in San Francisco in February. You said you have cruised before. Where did you go? Do you have packing tips and other thoughts? I welcome all input as I am a newbie. Aloha, MaryAnn

MaryAnn, you are in for the ride of your life! There is nothing more delicious (to me) than an Abraham cruise on a beautiful ship. Congratulations to you.
(that is you, at the helm, toasting LIFE!)
Love,
Christine

Hi MaryAnn,
I often pack only one formal outfit (and at my age...it's NOT a cocktail dress), usually a dressy pair of pants and a"evening" type top (shawl or sparklely top) and wear it on both formal nights. I also do a lot of mi and match packing to scale down on the total number of items required.
One tip is to make sure you have some sort of carry-on/over-night bag for the items you need the last night and day of disembarkation. You'll be putting the rest of your luggage outside your door the evening before we arrive back in Seattle and you won't see them again until after you disembark. If you're flying, you can actually pay and extra $15.00 a person (for two bags each) and they'll take your luggage directly to the airport and to your flight. You don't see your bags again until you reach your final destination. They also give you your boarding pass, so you can go right to the gate...it's really slick.
If you are at all prone to seasickness (or if you don't really know) you can pick up some "Bonine". It works really good and doesn't make you drowsy. I've used it during some really rough seas and never had any problems.
If you are able to board close to noon, the buffet wil be open so you can have lunch on the ship. it gives you lots of time to explore and settle in a bit prior to the muster drill (safety drill) which is usually about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes prior to sailing.
If you've signed up for early seating for dinner, be aware that you may not get your luggage delivered to your room prior to dinner. It's a casual evening for everyone, but jeans, shorts, etc. are not allowed in the dining room so I usually wear something for embarkation that I feel ok about wearing to dinner just in case.
If you own binoculars...pack them! Especially for Alaska.
If I think of other tips, I'll let you know. You'll be receiving a booklet from Holland America, through Life Journeys Travel that should answer most of the basic questions.
Be Well,
Vicki

Hey Everyone!
Jody, please add my name to the roll call! My real name is Jessica. (I saw you at the Ft. Lauderdale seminar not long ago but I didn't know who you were until I read your post about your question on the forum.)
I will be cruising with my husband Nick who is also an Aber and his parents who know who/what A-H is but are new to the process and have never been to a workshop. We are also bringing along my husband's aunt who's husband just croaked two weeks ago. She is not aware of A-H and won't be coming to the workshops, but we are hoping to help her come into closer alignment whil cruising with us.
I can't wait to see you all in person!

Jessica, that is fantastic news!! YAY!
I think this is just a wonderful story - from 'solo cruiser' to a family experience - and Aunt Linda will definitely be TITITO by the time this cruise is over! So will we all!!

Hi Alaska fellow cruisers!
This is kind of a girlie clothing question - - I have plenty of warm clothes. However, most of them are so bulky they would fill up a large suitcase much too quickly. I am considdering making some purchases that would specifically be easily condensed in my suitcase and also easy to wash by hand and hang to dry. Do any of you have any suggestions? I am looking at "Citiknits" on QVC. They say they are great for travel - easy/small packing - however, every time they say, "dry them flat" I think they might not be the best choice. I read somewhere (??) about someone who had some clothing she would rinse at night - hang to dry and it was ready to go the next day. Do any of you have any experiences that would be helpful? Thanks a bunch! Marcia

Hi everyone,
we'd like to ask you to please add our names to the roll call:
Susan & Liz
We're new to cruising and Alaska, but not to Abraham and it's a thrill to be able to combine all three for this extraordinary experience. I just found your roll call thanks to another Aber on cruisecritics and it's great fun to meet all of you through your posts! What a fantastic journey this will be with so many like-minded people in one place, surrounded by nature in all her magnificent glory! We can't wait!
We've been booked on this cruise since it first became available a year ago - which seems like FOREVER, and here we are now, at 73 DAYS, 20 Hours and counting ...... YAAAAAY!!
(PS: still trying to figure out how to load my picture.... I think I'm just to bleary-eyed to see!!!)
