Over the last couple of years my contrasts have gotten more intense. At the same time my vibrational escrow is bursting at the seems and I have seen some good driftwood. My question is how do I both appreciate and give no attention to these contrasting situations?::chin::TUJerry

...and that the more intense the better because it shows how fast you are flowing downstream??

Could you try that on for size?  A new definition of contrast.

I've been experiencing some stronger (and v. uncomfortable) contrast the last few days and this is one of the ways I'm approaching it.

I'M ALSO being really kind to myself about it.  Not trying to resist it, but letting it be what it is and soothing myself through it.

PLUS, I think Abe might say you can't get excited about all that's lined up for you in VE and worry about contrast at the same time.

AND, the better you feel generally, the more you will glide through the contrast (getting from it all you need to fire off more rockets of desire) and naturally focus on what you want and why you want it.

This thread is speaking to me loudly... actually, it's screaming at me!!!

I think my stream is going super-fast cuz I just hit a boulder, or tree, and man, did it hurt!!!

Like you Jerry, I'm going through some very heavy contrast, and I'm just letting myself feel the emotions until I can't no more, and then move up the scale because there's no way but up. I think that's what you're supposed to do... you can't go any lower, so you start going up and shifting your vibration. I sooo want to flow with the stream now, but I know all is well where I am! ::rocket

I can't wait to hear other's replies. Ocean's reply ::hugging  is wonderful, thank you so much!!!

Love to all of you ::hearts

Butterlfy ::hugging : I read your reply on another thread where Ocean thanks you, and I have to also thank you for it, it's excellent advice!

I know that this contrast has been great for my VE. I even can say that it has helped me to better focus and I have made a special new friend because of it. But, it dosnt feel good to think about the contrast. I feel like it is "what is", a residue from the past, and that I should focus on what is coming (my VE). Also, dont I give more energy to it with my attention? Thank you and I look forward to telling you all the upcoming success story!::group::cerealJerry

Easy. You appreciate the contrast the same way you appreciate the driftwood.

The contrast keeps you sending up ::rocket::rocketand building up your VE.

You don't say what kind of contrast you're getting, but it's either part of your pre-chosen journey or in someone else's pie who's close to you.

Play Pollyanna's 'glad game' and look for the good in every situation. Notice how if that hadn't happened you wouldn't have got this. Contrast has brought me friendships, moved not-so-nice people out of my life, provided me with depth, created my vibration as it is now, all kinds of things. It's given me a life to look back on and say wow, I handled that.

Contrast isn't bad, you see. It isn't bad just cos you don't enjoy it at the time.

We came here for the contrast, did you know that? because we are challenge-seeking beings and if our work was done ... we'd have nothing to do.

But we never get it done.

Hooray for contrast!

love

Somewhere on my blog I have the exact quote from the Caribbean Cruise, but Abraham tells the senior citizen Danish man to stop cursing his circumstances and life events, because they have brought him to the platform he is on today!!!! Bless the contrast and focus beyond it.

Contrast is doing its job.

An extreme example of what Abraham means: On the Hawaiian Cruise 2007, Abraham told a person that all those people in war-torn places that are experiencing the bombings and deprivations are providing tremendous service to the mass consciousness because of the contrast causing them to MASSIVELY want peace, tranquility, abundance, etc, etc, etc. Those souls are doing mankind an enormous service.

Hi Jerry,

You wrote:

Abraham opens up every workshop with the profound question, "Are you enjoying the contrast?  Are you enjoying  how it puts the eternalness into eternity?"  So we are asked if we are appreciating what contrast has to offer.

You mentioned that contrast doesn't make you feel good, yet since you know what doesn't feel good, it causes you to focus on what does.  So contrast has given you the ability to discern what you don't want, and focus on what you do want.

This parallels the Abraham analogy of the hot stove.  If you know a stove is hot, the contrast causes you to get your hand off the stove, however if you have no feelings for the contrast, you would not feel the hotness, and so your hand would burn and you would not feel it.  So the contrast - even though it may not feel good - causes you to react.  In short, contrast or more specifically negative emotion is not a bad thing, if it is used to gauge on how to make your life better, by getting your hand out of situations that parallel the hot stove.

Now when something causes to feel hot, or negative emotion, you will naturally react.  It will have your attention.  For example, one may be low in funds, have a disease, or a problem that is so in one's face due to the contrast.  It may seem impossible to ignore it since this is "what is."

And anything that gets your attention for a prolonged period of time will activate a vibration, and from a deliberate creator perspective, this will coerce you to change the way you feel about this contrast, by finding better feeling thoughts.

One has to shift the way they feel about the contrast, or how it has become affected by their perception of reality.  Because what one is thinking and feeling is creating the contrast that they are experiencing right now.

So in terms of where to put our focus, in any contrasting situation, is to always focus on what feels better, because what we focus on and expect will become a part of our reality.

Steve, helpful reminder about the stove. The pain causes me to remove my hand from the stove. Thank you pain I appreciate you. But then move on to better feeling thoughts and not sit and think back on the painful hot stove. ::downstream Thank you buddy!

Sorry, this isn't exactly advise, it more a story or a thought I have had. But I have fun with it.

A few years ago I had a good job and a nice home in the suburbs. Then one day I was laid off and I had trouble finding work. (My Story) My home started having horrible problems. Pipes bursting, water heater burst, termites, then even fire ants in the outer walls. I had had this home custom built too. I loved it. Then an upstairs door finally expanded in the heat and humidity a bit too far, couldn't close it which confirmed my belief birds were in the attic. Birds flew in and crapped all over my dream home and it was a nightmare.

Meanwhile, I was shooting rockets of desire. I came up with an idea and basked in it. Wouldn't it be cool......

Well, I did eventually loose my home and all. I moved into an apartment.

However, I saw my idea come to life on TV when I saw my first episode of Extreme Home Makeover. Now I don't miss it unless I have something very important going on. It's not just seeing my idea in action, it's seeing people create for others and finding joy in it.

I know that I contributed a whole lot in Vibrational Escrow to that whole thing. I keep it going.  I don't know how MUCH desire has to add up to get a thing going but I feel a lot of creating has been the result of this.

OK, it hasn't happened to me completely though I am doing fine. However, I believe Abraham says nothing is more important then how you feel. I am learning about feeling good in the midst of contrast. My externals have improved since those days tho. When more of my "good" does come, I won't feel so reliant on it all staying the same. All really IS well.

So the next time you see the show Extreme Home Makeover you can say "Hey, I know someone who put in a lot of VE for that!". LOL.

:oars:

"OK, now, drop your Oars and put your hands in the air where I can see them!"

"Noo noo! Then I'll be up a creek without a paddle!"

"Drop your oars. Nothing you want is upstream."

life is good--i explored this one in depth on another thread that you can find here...

http://www.theabeforum.com/view_topic.php?id=382&forum_id=2&highlight=bless+the+contrast

When contrast comes, my inner being jumps for joy...you just have to shift your perspective! you arent telling the same story over and over again which would add energy to it--you are focusing on ok--this is happening and it is making me want THIS...and so, then you focus on the this...and thus it is :)

contrast, like any stress to any biological system, expands it and makes it stronger.
